PEACEFUL MOMENTS PRIZED PEONY

I really meant to have this post up several days ago, and I got busy and distracted and didn't get it done.  Anyway, here is my card, even if it is late!

If you follow my blog, you will remember I used this layout with the Ornate Style cards, and the die for the side die cut is from the Ornate Layers dies.  But this flower just seemed to fit so well with this layout that I had to use it.  And I really LOVE the way this turned out!

RECIPE FOR THE CARD:

STAMPS:  Prized Peony, Peaceful Moments

CARDSTOCK:
     Gray Granite:  4-1/5 x 11, scored at 5-1/2
     Gray Granite:  4-1/8 x 5-3/8
     Basic Gray:  4 x 4
     Whisper White:  3-7/8 x 3-7/8
          SCRAPS:  Whisper White, Gray Granite, Basic Gray
               INSIDE:
                    Basic Gray:  3-3/4 x 5
                    Whisper White:  3-5/8 x 4-7/8

INK:  Gray Granite, Basic Gray

BLENDS:  Petal Pink, Old Olive (L), Daffodil Delight (D)

ACCESSORIES:  Peony Dies, Ornate Layers Dies, Magnetic Platform, Subtles Embossing Folder, Elegant Faceted Gems, Dimensionals

HOW I MADE IT:

1.  Using scoreboard, score card base at 5-1/2.  Fold card base and burnish with bone folder to make a sharp crease.

2.  Use Gray Granite ink to stamp signature stamp on back of card base.

3.  Stamp small flower on lower right corner of inside panel using Gray Granite ink.  Color using markers.

4.  Adhere inside panels together; adhere to inside of card base.

5.  Emboss Gray Granite cardstock using Subtles Embossing Folder and Big Shot.  Adhere to front of card base.

6.  Use Gray Granite ink to stamp sentiment on lower right corner of front panel.  Stamp background decorative stamp using Gray Granite ink three times on front panel.  See sample for placement.

7.  Adhere stamped panel to Basic Gray cardstock.  Adhere to front of card base.

8.  Use Ornate Layers Dies and Big Shot to die cut Gray Granite cardstock and Basic Gray cardstock panels.  Adhere the "ornate" Gray Granite layer to the Basic Gray layer.  Adhere to front of card base.

9.  Stamp large flower on scrap of Whisper White cardstock using Gray Granite ink.  Color using markers.  Cut out using Peony Dies and Big Shot.  Adhere to front of card base using dimensionals.

10.  Add Elegant Faceted Gems.  See sample for placement.

The inside of the card looks like this:

I like to decorate the inside of the card and stamp and color something on it.

I hope you enjoyed this project; it took me several days to get this posted--Doyle and I have been doing some small projects around the house and I have been distracted!  Hopefully I will have another project to share with you soon.  I have two more Peony cards completed and will be sharing those soon!

I am sharing a card with you today that I made to send out with the August -- December 2020 Mini Catalogs.  Since I have only posted one, here is the second card.  I used the Posted for You stamp set and Rectangular Postage Stamp Punch for this card.

CARDSTOCK:  

     Crumb Cake:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2, scored at 4-1/4

     Old Olive:  4 x 5-1/4

     Whisper White:  3-7/8 x 5-1/8

     Boho Indigo DSP:  2-5/8 x 5-1/8

     Whisper White:  1-3/16 x 1-15/16 (3)

          SCRAPS:  Old Olive

          INSIDE:

               Old Olive:  3-3/4 x 5

               Whisper White:  3-5/8 x 4-7/8

INK:  Night of Navy

BLENDS:  Soft Suede (Light), Old Olive (Light), Night of Navy (Light)

ACCESSORIES:  Subtle Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Rectangular Postage Stamp Punch, Denim Ribbon, Linen Thread, Dimensionals, Rhinestones

I stamped the birds and branches stamp using Night of Navy ink, then colored with the Old Olive, Soft Suede, and Night of Navy blends.  

The inside of the card looks like this:

I stamped the image again on the lower right corner of the inside panel and colored it using the blends.  

HOW I MADE THE CARD:

1.  Use a scoreboard to score the card base at 4-1/4.  Fold the card base, use a bone folder to burnish the fold.

2.  Stamp signature stamp on back of card base using Night of Navy ink.

3.  Use Night of Navy ink to stamp image on lower right corner of inside panel.  Color using blends.

4.  Adhere inside panels together; adhere to inside of card base.

5.  Use Big Shot and Subtles Embossing Folder to emboss the Whisper White cardstock.  Stamp sentiment on lower right corner of Whisper White cardstock.  

6.  Adhere Boho Indigo DSP to top of Whisper White embossed cardstock.  Adhere to Old Olive cardstock.  

7.  Adhere Denim ribbon at seam.  Wrap ribbon with Linen Thread and tie in a knot.

8.  Adhere panel to front of card base.  

9.  Stamp image on the three 1-3/16 x 1-15/16 Whisper White cardstock pieces.  Color using blends.  Adhere to three Old Olive "postage stamp" pieces.  Adhere to front of card base using dimensionals.

10.  Add dimensionals to either side of the sentiment (see sample for placement).

ORNATE LAYERS DIES SHOWCASED!

It keeps raining today!  I look up and there is sunshine, then it gets cloudy, then it gets dark, then it rains (repeat, repeat, repeat).  But I GOT to go to the grocery wearing my new leopard skin face mask, and it wasn’t raining then and I got to walk around the neighborhood after dinner and it wasn’t raining then, either!  But the BEST part of the day was making another inspiration card for the Ornate Garden Suite Sampler!

This is the Ornate Garden Suite Sampler for June—see my post dated June 4, 2020 for details!  If you look carefully, you can see a die cut in Terracotta Tile that I used on this card.  

I love the way this card turned out!  Here is my recipe:

STAMPS:  Ornate Style, Rooted in Nature

CARDSTOCK:

     Crumb Cake:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2, scored at 4-1/4

     Terracotta Tile:  4-1/8 x 5-3/8

     Early Espresso:  4 x 4

     Whisper White:  3-7/8 x 3-7/8

     SCRAPS:  Crumb Cake, Terracotta Tile

          INSIDE:

               Early Espresso:  3-3/4 x 5

               Whisper White:  3-5/8 x 4-7/8

INK:  Early Espresso

BLENDS:  Old Olive (L), Daffodil Delight (D), Petal Pink (D), Cajun Craze (L)

ACCESSORIES:  Ornate Layers Dies, Magnetic Platform, Big Shot, Subtles Embossing Folder, Gilded Gems

Notice that I didn't use a single dimensional on this card (I don't do that very often)!

HOW I MADE IT:

1.  Use scoreboard to score card base at 4-1/4; fold and burnish with bone folder.

2.  Stamp signature stamp using Early Espresso ink on back of card base.

3.  Use Early Espresso ink to stamp corner of flower stamp on lower right corner of inside panel.  Color using markers.

4.  Adhere inside panels together; adhere to inside of card base.

5.  Emboss Terracotta Tile cardstock using Subtles Embossing Folder and Big Shot.  Adhere to front of card base.

6.  Use Ornate Layers Dies to cut die cut from scrap of Terracotta Tile cardstock.  Cut scrap of Crumb Cake cardstock to adhere behind the die cut.  Adhere die cut panel to front of card base (see sample for placement).

7.  Stamp sentiment using Early Espresso ink on upper right corner of Whisper White cardstock.  Use Early Espresso to stamp flower stamp on left side and lower right side of the Whisper White panel.  Color flowers using markers.

8.  Adhere stamped panel to Early Espresso cardstock.  Adhere to front of card base.

9.  Add Gilded Gems to die cut on front of card (see sample for placement).

Double Wonder—Bonus Card!

It has been a good day today.  I did a bit of organizing in my craft room.  This time of year, with the new catalog coming out, means that I have to figure out what to keep and what to get rid of, and where to put new items that I get.  Today I labeled and put away my new in-color cardstock.  It is SO pretty!  Anyway, I wanted to share with you the very last card from our Double Wonder card set:

The four DSP pieces on the front of the card are the "extra pieces" at the bottom of the left side of the cutting guide.  I turned them over so that all four pieces are different designs.

     Petal Pink:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2, scored at 4-1/4

     Magnolia Lane DSP:  1-1/2 x 1-3/4 (4) (pieces cut from DSP according to cutting guide)

     SCRAPS:  Whisper White, Petal Pink, Mossy Meadow

               Mossy Meadow:  3-3/4 X 5

               Whisper White:  3-5/8 x 4-7/8

INK:  Soft Suede, Mossy Meadow
