PRIZED PEONY POSITIVE THOUGHTS THINKING OF YOU!

Hi, Friends,
We were having internet problems yesterday, so I didn't get a blog post up.  Not sure what was going on, and I have noticed some issues this morning as well.  I sure do love my internet (like everyone else, apparently)!  Anyway, I have another Peony project today!

This is another card where I colored the DSP!  I used the Petal Pink, Old Olive and Daffodil Delight Blends Markers to color the flowers.  It totally changes the way the DSP looks!

MY RECIPE FOR THE CARD:

STAMPS:  Prized Peony, Positive Thoughts

CARDSTOCK:
     Gray Granite:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2, scored at 4-1/4
     Mossy Meadow:  3-5/8 x 4-7/8
     Peony Garden DSP:  3-1/2 x 3-1/2
     Petal Pink:  1-1/2 x 3-1/2
SCRAPS:  Whisper White, Gray Granite, Mossy Meadow, Old Olive
               INSIDE:
                    Petal Pink:  3-3/4 x 5
                    Whisper White:  3-5/8 x 4-7/8

INK:  Old Olive, Gray Granite

BLENDS:  Petal Pink (L), Daffodil Delight (D), Old Olive (L)

ACCESSORIES:  Stitched Shapes Dies, Layering Circles Dies, Ornate Layers Dies, Birthday Dies (Retired), Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder, Magnetic Platform, Big Shot, Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Rhinestones

The inside of the card looks like this:

HOW I MADE IT:

1.  Use scoreboard to score card base at 4-1/4.  Fold the card base at the score line and burnish the fold with a bone folder to give a sharp crease.

2.  Use Gray Granite ink to stamp signature stamp on back of card base.

3.  Stamp small flower on lower right corner of inside panel using Gray Granite ink.  Color using markers.

4.  Adhere inside panels together; adhere to inside of card base.

5.  Use Blends Markers to color DSP.  Adhere to top of Mossy Meadow cardstock.

6.  Emboss Petal Pink cardstock using Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder and Big Shot.  Adhere to bottom of Mossy Meadow cardstock.

7.  Cut out stitched rectangle from scrap of Old Olive cardstock using Ornate Layers Dies and Big Shot.  Adhere to seam of above panel.

8.  Use Birthday Dies (retired) (or other small leaf die of your choice) to cut leaves from scraps of Mossy Meadow cardstock.

9.  Stamp sentiment using Old Olive ink on scrap of Whisper White cardstock.  Cut out using Stitched Shapes die and Big Shot.  Cut out scalloped circle using Layering Circles Dies, Gray Granite cardstock scraps and Big Shot.

10.  Adhere sentiment circle to scalloped Gray Granite die cut.

11.  Lay sentiment circle on front of card base.  Use Glue Dots to adhere small leaves on either side of sentiment panel.

12.  Attach sentiment circle to front of card base using dimensonals.

13.  Add rhinestones; see sample for placement.

Thank you for stopping by to see my latest project!  I hope you love it and that you have a wonderful week!

Happy stamping,

ORNATE LAYERS PRIZED PEONY THANKS!

Hi, Friends,

I still have a few cards to share with you that I have made with the Peony Garden Suite.  This bundle with all of the coordinating products is amazing, and one of my personal favorites!  Here is today's project:

This is another project where I have colored the DSP I used in the background.  I simply colored the blooms with the Light Petal Pink Blends.  The light on the picture below is not the best, but it gives you an idea of the way the DSP looks after it has been colored and before the rest of the layers are added!

MY RECIPE:

STAMPS:  Prized Peony, Garden Shed

CARDSTOCK:
     Petal Pink:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2, scored at 4-1/4
     Gray Granite:  4 x 5-1/4
     Peony Garden DSP:  3-7/8 x 5-1/8
          SCRAPS:  Whisper White
               INSIDE:
                    Gray Granite:  3-3/4 x 5
                    Whisper White:  3-5/8 x 4-7/8

INK:  Gray Granite

BLENDS:  Petal Pink, Old Olive (L), Daffodil Delight (D)

ACCESSORIES:  Peony Dies, Ornate Layers Dies, Magnetic Platform, Big Shot, Wink of Stella, Pearls, Dimensionals

The Ornate Layers Die makes the card look much harder than it is; with all of the decorative holes and swirls, it adds much to the card!  The inside of the card is simple:

HOW I MADE IT:

1.  Use scoreboard to score the card base at 4-1/4.  Fold the card; burnish the fold with a bone folder for an awesome crease.

2.  Use Gray Granite ink to stamp signature stamp on back of card base.

3.  Stamp small flower image on lower right corner of inside panel.  Color using markers.

4.  Adhere inside card panels together; adhere to inside of card base.

5.  Use markers to color Peony Garden DSP.  Adhere to Gray Granite cardstock.  Adhere to front of card base.

6.  Cut Ornate Layers Die Cut from scrap of Whisper White cardstock using die and Big Shot.

7.  Stamp sentiment on lower right corner of die cut using Gray Granite ink.

8.  Adhere die cut to front of card base.

9.  Use Gray Granite ink to stamp large flower image on scrap of Whisper White cardstock.  Color using markers.  Cut out using Peony Dies and Big Shot.  Attach to card front using dimensionals.

10.  Use Wink of Stella to add shimmer to die cut flower.

11.  Add small pearls to either side of sentiment.  See sample for placement.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!  I hope you are not getting tired of the Prized Peony projects, because I still have a couple to share with you.

Be sure to make a card and send it to someone special today!

Happy stamping,
Linda

PRIZED PEONY COLOR YOUR DSP!

Hi, Friends,
Today, I have another project for you using the Peony Garden Suite projects.  This one uses the simple technique of coloring your DSP.  It is amazing how much different the DSP looks when you use your markers and color all or part of the DSP!  I used this DSP and colored in the flowers and leaves with the Petal Pink Blends (light).

You can see the difference when you look at the strip of DSP at the bottom of the card:

MY RECIPE FOR THIS CARD:

STAMPS:  Prized Peony

     Crumb Cake:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2, scored at 4-1/4
     Petal Pink:  4 x 5-1/4
     Whisper White:  3-7/8 x 5-1/8
     Peony Garden DSP:  1-1/2 x 3-7/8
          SCRAPS:  Crumb Cake, Whisper White
               INSIDE:
                    Petal Pink:  3-3/4 x 5
                    Whisper White:  3-5/8 x 4-7/8

INK:  Petal Pink, Crumb Cake

BLENDS:  Petal Pink, Old Olive (L),

ACCESSORIES:  Hippo and Friends Dies, Peony Dies, Magnetic Platform, Big Shot, Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder, Sponge, Dimensionals, Elegant Faceted Gems, Braided Linen Trim

HOW I MADE IT:

1.  Use scoreboard to score card base at 4-1/4.  Fold card base, and burnish fold using bone folder to make a sharp crease.

2.  Use Crumb Cake ink to stamp signature stamp on back of card base.

3.  Stamp small flower image on lower right corner of inside panel.  Color using markers.  Use sponge and Crumb Cake ink to lightly sponge the inside panels.

4.  Adhere inside panels together; adhere to inside of card base.

5.  Use Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder and Big Shot to emboss Whisper White cardstock.

6.  Color the DSP images using the Petal Pink (L) blends marker.

7.  Use sponge and Crumb Cake ink to lightly sponge the front of the card base, the Petal Pink cardstock, Whisper White embossed cardstock, and the colored DSP.

8.  Adhere DSP (colored with markers) to the bottom of the embossed Whisper White cardstock.  Adhere panel to Petal Pink cardstock.  Adhere Braided Linen Trim to seam.  Adhere panel to front of card base.

9.  Stamp sentiment using Crumb Cake ink onto scrap of Whisper White cardstock.  Cut out using Hippo and Friends Dies and Big Shot.  Lightly sponge die cut using Crumb Cake ink and a sponge.

10.  Use Hippo and Friends Dies and Big Shot to cut out Crumb Cake die cut.  Lightly sponge die using Crumb Cake ink and sponge.

11.  Adhere sentiment die cut to Crumb Cake die.  Attach to front of card base using dimensionals.

12.  Stamp small flower image using Crumb Cake on scrap of Whisper White cardstock.  Color using markers.  Cut out using Peony Dies and Big Shot.  Lightly sponge using Crumb Cake ink.

13.  Attach flower image to sentiment die cut using dimensionals.

14.  Add Elegant Faceted Gems to sentiment die cut.  See sample for placement.

HEALING HUGS PRIZED PEONY GET WELL CARD!

Hi, Friends,

I sure do miss you guys!  Being an introvert, I honestly LOVE to be home all by myself--until COVID!  Now, I REALLY miss getting together with my friends.  Well, hopefully, we will be able to get together soon and make some awesome cards together.

Last night, Doyle and I were tired of eating at the house, so we got takeout sandwiches and drove out to Chester Frost State Park, found a picnic table and had a relaxing meal, watching people kayaking and riding their jet skies.  The weather was perfect, and even though it was warm, the breeze off the river felt awesome!

Today, I have a "different" card for you.  At first glance, it looks like a pretty simple card with some DSP and a sentiment.  However, the DSP is special because I colored some of the gray and white cardstock with blends markers--Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, Petal Pink, and Gray Granite.  It wasn't hard, just took a bit of time.  If coloring is relaxing to you, then look at your Designer Series Paper and see what sheets you can use markers to color and use on a project!  It is fun to come up with something unique!

Here is the card I am sharing with you today:

MY RECIPE:

STAMPS:  Prized Peony, Healing Hugs

CARDSTOCK:
     Basic Gray:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2, scored at 4-1/4
     Gray Granite:  4 x 5-1/4
     Peony Garden DSP:  3-7/8 x 3-7/8
     Old Olive:  1-1/2 x 3-7/8
SCRAPS:  Mossy Meadow, Basic Gray, Whisper White
               INSIDE:
                    Gray Granite:  3-3/4 x 5
                    Whisper White:  3-5/8 x 4-7/8

INK:  Old Olive, Basic Gray

BLENDS:  Gray Granite (L), Old Olive (L), Daffodil Delight (D), Petal Pink (L)

ACCESSORIES:  Stitched Shapes Dies, Squares Layering Dies, Christmas Cardinal Dies, Magnetic Platform, Big Shot, Subtles Embossing Folder, Elegant Faceted Gems, Dimensionals, Glue Dots, Gray Granite Shimmer Ribbon

HOW I MADE IT:

1.  Use scoreboard to score card base at 4-1/4.  Fold card base and burnish with bone folder to make a sharp crease.

2.  Use Basic Gray ink to stamp signature stamp on back of card base..

3.  Stamp flower using Gray Granite ink on lower right corner of inside panel.  Color using markers.

4.  Adhere inside panels together; adhere to inside of card base.

5.  Color DSP using Blends Markers.  Adhere DSP panel to top of Gray Granite cardstock.

6.  Emboss Old Olive panel using the Subtles Embossing Folder and Big Shot.  Adhere embossed panel to bottom of Gray Granite cardstock.

7.  Adhere Gray Granite Shimmer Ribbon to "seam".  Adhere panel to front of card base.

8.  Use Old Olive ink to stamp sentiment on scrap of Whisper White cardstock.  Cut out using die and Big Shot.  Adhere sentiment panel to Basic Gray scalloped square.

9.  Lay sentiment panel on front of card base approximately where you will attach it to the card.  Adhere leaves to card base, using glue dots.

10.  Attach sentiment panel to front of card base using dimensionals.

11.  Add Elegant Faceted Gems; see sample for placement.

I hope you guys are all doing well, and that you will use this card as an inspiration to make something  to give to someone special!

Happy stamping,
Linda

PRIZED PEONY IN GRAY AND WHITE!

Hi, Friends,

Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!  The sun is shining so maybe it will be a great day!

Today, I am sharing another Peony Garden Suite project:

This photo doesn't show it very well, but the flower has been "painted" with Wink of Stella, and is all shimmery and sparkly!  Unfortunately, I have needed several sympathy cards recently, but at least I was able to use it as a good excuse to use my Prized Peony stamp set.

MY RECIPE:

STAMPS:  Prized Peony

CARDSTOCK:
     Gray Granite:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2, scored at 4-1/4
     Whisper White:  4 x 5-1/4
     Peony Garden DSP:  3-7/8 x 3-7/8
     Gray Granite:  1-1/2 x 3-7/8
          SCRAPS:  Whisper White
               INSIDE:
                    Gray Granite:  3-3/4 x 5
                    Whisper White:  3-5/8 x 4-7/8

INK:  Gray Granite

BLENDS:  Old Olive (L), Daffodil Delight (D)

ACCESSORIES:  Peony Dies, Stitched So Sweetly Dies, Magnetic Platform, Big Shot, Subtles Embossing Folder, Gray Granite Shimmer Ribbon, Dimensionals, Pearls, Wink of Stella

The flower is very easy to color.  I simply stamped it in Gray Granite on Whisper White cardstock and cut it out using the Peony Dies.  The leaves are separate stamps; they were also stamped in Gray Granite, colored with Old Olive blends and cut it out using the Peony Dies.  I used the same process to stamp and color the flower on the lower right corner of the inside panel (just didn't cut it out with the dies):

HOW I MADE IT:

1.  Use scoreboard to score cardbase at 4-1/4.  Burnish the fold with a bone folder for a nice, crisp fold.

2.  Use Gray Granite ink to stamp signature stamp on back of card base.

3.  Stamp flower image on lower right corner of inside panel.  Color using markers, and "paint" with Wink of Stella.

4.  Adhere inside panels together; adhere to inside of card base.

5.  Adhere Peony Garden DSP to top portion of Whisper White cardstock.

6.  Emboss Gray Granite cardstock using Subtles Embossing Folder and Big Shot.  Adhere to bottom of Whisper White cardstock.  Adhere Gray Granite Shimmer Ribbon at seam.  Adhere panel to front of card base.

7.  Cut die cut from Whisper White cardstock using Stitched So Sweetly Dies and Big Shot.

8.  Use Gray Granite ink to stamp sentiment on left side of die cut.  Attach to front of card base using dimensionals.

9.  Stamp flower image using Gray Granite ink on scrap of Whisper White cardstock.  Cut out using Peony Dies and Big Shot.  Color using markers.

10.  Stamp leaves using Gray Granite ink on scrap of Whisper White cardstock.  Color using markers.  Cut out using Peony Dies and Big Shot.

11.  Lay flower image on die cut; decide on placement of leaves and adhere leaves to die cut.

12.  Attach flower to die cut using dimensionals.  "Paint" using Wink of Stella.

13.  Add pearls.  See sample for placement.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you have enjoyed this project and will use it for inspiration to make some cards!

Happy stamping,
Linda
