NUTS AND BOLTS VALENTINE CARD!

 Hi, Friends,

It has been another very busy stretch for me:  I held a card buffet on January 29, and have spent a good bit of my time since then putting stuff away, refreshing card boxes and getting ready for another event, the Angel Tree Crop at the Salvation Army.  You might have seen some of my before/after pictures that I posted on my business page on Facebook, Linda’s Paper Sunshine.  I had a couple of valentine cards on the card buffet and thought I would post them before Valentine’s Day arrives next week!

This project uses the Nuts & Bolts stamp set—I must admit I fell in love with these adorable robots as soon as I saw them in the January - June 2022 Mini Catalog.  Here is my card:

MY RECIPE:

     STAMPS:  Nuts & Bolts

     CARDSTOCK:

          Highland Heather:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2, scored at 4-1/4

          Real Red:  4 x 5-1/4

          Basic White:  3-7/8 x 5-1/8

          Sweet Talk DSP:  1-1/2 x 3-7/8

          Real Red:  3/8 x 3-7/8

               SCRAPS:  Basic White, Real Red

               INSIDE:

                    Real Red:  3-3/4 x 5

                    Basic White:  3-5/8 x 4-7/8

     INK:  Memento Black

BLENDS:  Real Red (D), Smoky Slate

DIES:  Stitched Shapes Dies (Retired), Circles Layering Dies

     ACCESSORIES:  Dimensionals, Rhinestones

These little guys are just too stinkin’ adorable!

I kept the inside super simple, just a couple of hearts in the lower right corner.  You can use the rest of the space to say exactly what you want to say.

HOW I MADE IT:

1.  Use Memento Black ink to stamp signature stamp on back of card base.

2.  Stamp two small hearts using Memento Black ink on lower right corner of inside panel.  Color hearts using markers.

3.  Adhere inside panels together; adhere to inside of card base.

4.  Use Memento Black ink to stamp sentiment and two small hearts on lower right corner of Basic White Cardstock.  Color hearts using markers.

5.  Adhere striped paper to left side of Basic White Cardstock.  Adhere Real Red strip to seam of patterned paper.

6.  Adhere panel to Real Red Cardstock.  Adhere to front of card base.

7.  Stamp robot using Memento Black ink on scrap of Basic White Cardstock.  Cut out using die and SU Die Cut Machine.  Color robot using markers.

8.  Adhere circle to Real Red scalloped circle die cut.  Attach to front of card base using dimensionals.

9.  Add rhinestones (see sample for placement).

I hope you enjoyed this fun card!  I will close with a picture of our sweet cat, Chloe, getting comfy for a nap in her hammock!

Hope you have an awesome weekend with lots of time for something fun!

Happy stamping,

Linda

LOVE OF LEAVES HELLO!

 Hi, Friends,

It is hard not to feel a little bit down today; the weather is dreary and rainy and it is the day before Thanksgiving, 2020.  The key is the 2020 part.  No family is headed our way, so we are planning a pretty non-traditional Thanksgiving tomorrow.  I plan to make a cherry pie at some point over the weekend, but we are planning to get carryout from Crackerbarrel for our meal.  On the positive side, I am thankful to not be cooking a huge meal (at least huge for me) but I think I will be a little more thankful to cook a big meal the next holiday we can have family.  And our family does plan to spend some time together virtually this weekend.

Our neighborhood had an outdoor Halloween gathering this year and I made some fall themed Chex Mix.  I may regret it later, but I made another batch this afternoon and have been snacking on it ever since!  It makes a big batch, but I bagged it up in snack size ziplocks (that is how I took it to the Halloween gathering to make it COVID safe).  So if you get a snack craving, come to my door and ask for a bag of Chex Mix!

I have another fun project to share with you today, a card made with the Love of Leaves stamp set:

If you look at the picture of the card closely, the top background paper is DSP that is Crumb Cake with speckles all over it (which I adore).  Look closely at the top of the card and you will see that I ran it through the Die Cut Machine with one of the Stitched Leaves Dies to make the "stitching" along the top of the DSP--is that WOW or what?  The Mint Macaron Basketweave Ribbon just looks like a cozy sweater next to that Early Espresso Houndstooth DSP!

MY RECIPE:

     STAMPS:  Love of Leaves

     CARDSTOCK:

          Mint Macaron:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2, scored at 4-1/4

          Early Espresso:  4 x 5-1/4

          Gilded Autumn DSP:  3-7/8 x 3-7/8

          Gilded Autumn DSP:  1-1/2 x 3-7/8

          SCRAPS:  Early Espresso, Very Vanilla

          INSIDE:

               Early Espresso:  3-3/4 x 5

               Very Vanilla:  3-5/8 x 4-7/8

INK:  Early Espresso, Mint Macaron, Cajun Craze

ACCESSORIES:  Stitched Shapes Dies, Circles Layering Dies, Stitched Leaves Dies, Magnetic Cutting Plate, Die Cut Machine, Braided Linen Trim, Linen Thread, Basketweave Ribbon, Glue Dots, Rhinestones, Dimensionals

Here is what the card looks like on the inside:

I stamped one of the leaf images from the Love of Leaves stamp set using Cajun Craze ink in the bottom right corner.

HOW I MADE THE CARD:

1.  Use Early Espresso ink to stamp the signature stamp on the back of the card base.

2.  Stamp the leaf image on the bottom right corner of the inside panel using Cajun Craze ink.  Adhere the inside panels together; adhere to inside of card base.

3.  Run the square DSP thru the Die Cut Machine using the "stitched" lines die to create the stitched effect at the top of the card.

4.  Adhere DSP to the Early Espresso cardstock.  Adhere the Mint Macaron Basketweave Ribbon at the seam.  Tie Braided Linen Trim around the Basketweave Ribbon.  Adhere panel to the front of the card base.

5.  Use Circle Layering Dies and the Die Cut Machine to cut a scalloped circle from Early Espresso Cardstock.

6.  Cut a circle from Very Vanilla Cardstock using the Stitched Shapes Dies and the Die Cut Machine.

7.  Stamp the sentiment using Early Espresso ink onto the Stitched Very Vanilla cardstock circle.  Adhere sentiment circle to the scalloped Early Espresso circle.  Attach the sentiment circle to the front of the card base using dimensionals.

8.  Use Early Espresso ink, Mint Macaron ink, and Cajun Craze ink to stamp leaves on scraps of Very Vanilla cardstock.  Cut out using the Stitched Leaves Dies and the Die Cut Machine.  For simplicity, I cut off the stems of the Cajun Craze and Mint Macaron leaves.  Adhere the leaves together, then adhere to the sentiment circle on the front of the card base.

9.  Tie a double bow using Linen Thread; adhere to the bundled leaves using a Glue Dot.

10.  Add rhinestones; see sample for placement.

And that's my project for today!  A fun aside--I had to stop typing and clean off my laptop keyboard while I was working on this post because I had a bag of Chex Mix and got my fingers messy (and thus my keyboard messy).  Oh well, the Chex Mix was wonderful!!!

I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving, whether it be with lots of family and friends or just a few of you this year!  And if you don't have extra family visiting this year, maybe you will get a little bit of extra crafting time!

Happy stamping,

Linda

PRIZED PEONY POSITIVE THOUGHTS THINKING OF YOU!

Hi, Friends,
We were having internet problems yesterday, so I didn't get a blog post up.  Not sure what was going on, and I have noticed some issues this morning as well.  I sure do love my internet (like everyone else, apparently)!  Anyway, I have another Peony project today!

This is another card where I colored the DSP!  I used the Petal Pink, Old Olive and Daffodil Delight Blends Markers to color the flowers.  It totally changes the way the DSP looks!

MY RECIPE FOR THE CARD:

STAMPS:  Prized Peony, Positive Thoughts

CARDSTOCK:
     Gray Granite:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2, scored at 4-1/4
     Mossy Meadow:  3-5/8 x 4-7/8
     Peony Garden DSP:  3-1/2 x 3-1/2
     Petal Pink:  1-1/2 x 3-1/2
SCRAPS:  Whisper White, Gray Granite, Mossy Meadow, Old Olive
               INSIDE:
                    Petal Pink:  3-3/4 x 5
                    Whisper White:  3-5/8 x 4-7/8

INK:  Old Olive, Gray Granite

BLENDS:  Petal Pink (L), Daffodil Delight (D), Old Olive (L)

ACCESSORIES:  Stitched Shapes Dies, Layering Circles Dies, Ornate Layers Dies, Birthday Dies (Retired), Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder, Magnetic Platform, Big Shot, Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Rhinestones

The inside of the card looks like this:

HOW I MADE IT:

1.  Use scoreboard to score card base at 4-1/4.  Fold the card base at the score line and burnish the fold with a bone folder to give a sharp crease.

2.  Use Gray Granite ink to stamp signature stamp on back of card base.

3.  Stamp small flower on lower right corner of inside panel using Gray Granite ink.  Color using markers.

4.  Adhere inside panels together; adhere to inside of card base.

5.  Use Blends Markers to color DSP.  Adhere to top of Mossy Meadow cardstock.

6.  Emboss Petal Pink cardstock using Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder and Big Shot.  Adhere to bottom of Mossy Meadow cardstock.

7.  Cut out stitched rectangle from scrap of Old Olive cardstock using Ornate Layers Dies and Big Shot.  Adhere to seam of above panel.

8.  Use Birthday Dies (retired) (or other small leaf die of your choice) to cut leaves from scraps of Mossy Meadow cardstock.

9.  Stamp sentiment using Old Olive ink on scrap of Whisper White cardstock.  Cut out using Stitched Shapes die and Big Shot.  Cut out scalloped circle using Layering Circles Dies, Gray Granite cardstock scraps and Big Shot.

10.  Adhere sentiment circle to scalloped Gray Granite die cut.

11.  Lay sentiment circle on front of card base.  Use Glue Dots to adhere small leaves on either side of sentiment panel.

12.  Attach sentiment circle to front of card base using dimensonals.

13.  Add rhinestones; see sample for placement.

Thank you for stopping by to see my latest project!  I hope you love it and that you have a wonderful week!

Happy stamping,
Linda

The Gang’s All Meer Happy Birthday!

Hi, Friends,
I hope everyone is doing well today.  I am loving the more sunny (even partly sunny) days!  We took a walk earlier this morning and sometimes take a second one in the afternoon.  Since our neighbors are also outside more right now it is a good time to meet our new neighbors.  The neighborhood is very busy, with four houses under construction.  Lots of truck traffic, delivering materials, and the construction crews start early and work until it is too dark to see.

Today I have a birthday card to share with you.

I used The Gang’s All Meer stamp set, one of the Sale-a-Bration stamp sets.

I stamped the meer cats onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock and used the Stitched Shapes dies and Big Shot to cut it out.  I colored the center meer cat using Crumb Cake Blends markers and stamped the birthday hat in Bermuda Bay ink, fussy cut it, and adhered it to the meer cat's head.

On the inside, I stamped the single meer cat, colored it with Blends and also added a birthday hat.

Here is my recipe for this project:

STAMPS:  The Gangs All Meer (SAB)

CARDSTOCK:
     Crumb Cake:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2, scored at 4-1/4
     Basic Black:  4 x 5-1/4
     Daffodil Delight:  3-7/8 x 5-1/8
     Birthday Bonanza DSP:  1-3/4 x 3-7/8
     Basic Black:  3 x 4
     Terracotta Tile:  2-7/8 x 3-7/8
     Basic Black:  3/8 x 3-7/8
          SCRAPS:  Daffodil Delight, Whisper White
          INSIDE:
               Basic Black:  3-3/4 x 5
               Whisper White:  3-5/8 x 4-7/8

INK:  Memento Black, Bermuda Bay

BLENDS:  Crumb Cake

ACCESSORIES:  Stitched Shapes Dies, Layering Circles Dies, Coastal Weave Embossing Folder, Magnetic Platform, Big Shot, Rhinestones, Dimensionals, Linen Thread

HOW I DID IT:

1.  Use scoreboard to score Crumb Cake card base at 4-1/4.  Fold and burnish with bone folder.

2.  Stamp signature stamp using Memento Black ink on back of card base.

3.  Use Memento Black ink to stamp meer cat on lower right corner of inside panel.  Color using markers.  Stamp birthday hat using Bermuda Bay ink on scrap of Whisper White cardstock.  Cut hat out using scissors and adhere to the meer cat's head.

4.  Adhere inside panels together; adhere to inside of card base.

5.  Use Coastal Weave Embossing Folder and Big Shot to emboss Daffodil Delight cardstock.

6.  Adhere strip of Birthday Bonanza DSP to embossed Daffodil Delight cardstock.  Adhere Basic Black strip to seam.  Wrap linen thread around Basic Black strip and tie.  Adhere panel to front of card base.

7.  Use Memento Black ink to stamp sentiment on lower right corner of Terracotta Tile cardstock.  Adhere to Basic Black cardstock.  Attach to card base using dimensionals.

8.  Stamp meer cats on scrap of Whisper White cardstock using Memento Black ink.  Cut out using framelit and Big Shot.  Color middle meer cat using markers.

9.  Cut out scalloped circle from Daffodil Delight cardstock using framelit and Big Shot.  Adhere stamped circle to scalloped circle.  Attach to card front using dimensionals.

10.  Use Bermuda Bay ink to stamp birthday hat on scrap of Whisper White cardstock.  Cut out using scissors and adhere to head of center meer cat.

11.  Add rhinestones to either side of sentiment (see sample for placement).

Hope you like the project I shared today!  Thanks so much for stopping by.  Don't forget to make-a-card send-a-card to someone special!

Happy stamping,
Linda
