Petal Cone Cupcake for May Play Day!

We made this card at May Play Day; it uses the Petal Cone Die to make the cupcake.  I followed instructions from Heather Summers (www.stampwithheather.typepad.com/stamp_with_heather/2011/03/petal-cone-dieits-a-cupcake.html).

Here is my recipe for the project:

STAMPS:  Curly Cute, On Your Birthday

CARDSTOCK:
     Crumb Cake:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 @ 4-1/4
     Early Espresso:  3-7/8 x 5-1/8 (2)
     Real Red:  3-3/4 x 5 (2)
     Very Vanilla:  3-1/2 x 4-3/4 (2)
     Brights Patterns Stack DSP:  2-1/4 x 3
     Whisper White:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2
Scraps:  Red Glimmer Paper, Early Espresso

INK:  Early Espresso

ACCESSORIES:  3/4 Circle Punch, 1 Circle Punch, 1-1/4 Circle Punch, Eyelet Border Punch, Crimper, Perfect Polka Dot Embossing Folder, Stripes Embossing Folder, Petal Cone Die, Big Shot, Dimensionals, 1/8 Real Red Taffeta Ribbon

My husband suggested that it would look nice to make the Petal Cone Die piece from a "chocolate" color, that it would probably show up better, and I agree with his suggestion!

Terrific Tag for April!

Okay, so I have failed at blogging for a while.  Life kind of derailed my plans to keep current, but here I am back again with my Terrific Tag for April (yes, I know it is May--I haven't made a card for May, yet!).

I was invited to be a vendor at a crop sponsored by a Girl Scout troop to raise money to go to Savannah, and needed a couple of Make and Takes; when I think of something fast to create, my mind always rushes to tags.  So I thought I would do something that would take care of two things, my Make and Take and my Terrific Tag for April.

Here is the tag I created:

I really was pleased with the way the tag turned out, too!  Here is my recipe:

I have been wanting to make a card with Field Flowers for some time, but for one reason or another, haven't used it until I was preparing for my friend Sheila's workshop.  This is the card I came up with, inspired by many great samples I have seen on the internet ( I was especially inspired by Windy Fischer's Field Flower card on her blog www.stamp2create.blogspot.com).

Elementary Elegance SAB Birthday Card CASE

I really love this card; it is a CASE of a card created by fellow SU demo Dawn Olechafski.  About the only thing I changed was the ribbon (she used Pool Party Seam Binding ribbon and I used the ruffled Pool Party ribbon).  I would have never thought to use this color combination (Pool Party and Peach Parfait) but I really love it together.  We made this card at Sheila's workshop a couple of weeks ago.

Here is my recipe:

STAMPS:  Elementary Elegance, Bring on the Cake

CARDSTOCK:
     Peach Parfait:  4-1/4 x 11, scored at 5-1/2
     Very Vanilla:  3 x 3
     Peach Parfait:  3-1/8 x 3-1/8
     Pool Party:  3-1/2 x 3-1/2
Scraps:  Very Vanilla, Peach Parfait, Everyday Enchantment DSP
     INSIDE:
          Pool Party:  3-3/4 X 5
          Peach Parfait:  3-1/2 x 4-3/4
          Very Vanilla:  3-3/8 x 4-5/8

INK:  Peach Parfait, Pool Party

ACCESSORIES:  Square Scallop Punch, Curly Label Punch, Beautiful Wings Embosslit, Finial Press Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Dimensionals, Pool Party 3/8" Ruffled Ribbon

Thanks for stopping by today and taking a peek at my creations!
