Beauty of the Season (Christmas in August)!

It really doesn't seem like we should be making Christmas cards yet, but it really is time!  Here is a card we made as a project for August Play Day:


The inside of the card looks like this:


We heat embossed the bird image (and the sentiment inside) with Early Espresso embossing powder, then colored the bird image with an Aqua Painter and classic ink from various colors.  It doesn't show in the picture, but the heat embossing really makes the card beautiful!

     Soft Suede:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2, scored at 4-1/4
     Soft Suede:  4 x 5-1/4
     Naturals White:  4-1/4 x 5-1/2
     INSIDE:
          Cherry Cobbler:  3-5/8 x 4-7/8
          Naturals White:  3-1/2 x 4-3/4
     SCRAPS:  Naturals White

INK:  Versamark, Cherry Cobbler, Soft Suede, So Saffron, Early Espresso, Sahara Sand

ACCESSORIES:  Heat Tool, Early Espresso Embossing Powder, Embossing Buddy, Aqua Painter, Dimensionals, Decorative Dots Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Small Oval Punch (Retired), Labels Collection Framelits

Vivid Vases May Play Day Project

Today I am sharing a project we made at May Play Day.  I have misplaced my notes for this project, so I am not sure if I CASED it; if you have made a similar project, please let me know so I can give proper credit!

STAMPS:  Vivid Vases, Petite Pairs

CARDSTOCK:
     Whisper White:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2, scored at 4-1/4
     Whisper White:  5-1/4 x 4
     Watercolor Wonder DSP:  1-3/4 x 4-3/4
     Island Indigo:  3-3/4 x 5
     Whisper White:  3-5/8 x 4-7/8
     SCRAPS:  Whisper White and Island Indigo

INK:  Black Stazon, Old Olive, Real Red, Island Indigo, Pumpkin Pie, Wisteria Wonder, Daffodil Delight

ACCESSORIES:  Deco Label Framelits, Big Shot, Dimensionals

To make the frame lit shadow, I cut two of the Island Indigo Deco Label Framelits and cut them as shown in the picture:


I then adhered them to the Vivid Vases panel as shown in this picture:

Best of Flowers April Play Day Project

Our second project at Play Day uses the awesome stamp set called Best of Flowers.  I really like all of the images and will be using them often.

Delicate Doilies Birthday Card

We (Dottie and I) made this card with our friends at Morning Pointe in February:


It is a challenge for me to do a simple card without ribbon or brads, but I really liked the cards we made this month!  This card was inspired by on I saw on Stampin Connection, a Stampin Up demo only web site, which was created by Joy Lynn Hakes.
