POSITIVE THOUGHTS

Hi, Friends,
I have one more card to post from the cards I mailed out with the new August - May Mini Catalog.  This one uses the Positive Thoughts stamp set.

This, honestly is a simple card, but I really like the way it turned out.  There are a couple of pieces that are cut funny, like 7/16 of an inch, mostly because I wanted a piece under the stamped die cut panel and I had to make it weird measurements to make it work.  But the stamping and coloring are pretty easy!  One interesting fact for those of you who know me well--I used no dimensionals on this card (that doesn't happen very often)!

MY RECIPE:

     STAMPS:  Positive Thoughts

     CARDSTOCK:
          Misty Moonlight:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2, scored at 4-1/4
          Misty Moonlight:  4-1/8 x 5-3/8
          Old Olive:  2-15/16 x 4-7/16
          SCRAPS:  Whisper White
               INSIDE:
                    Old Olive:  3-3/4 x 5
                    Whisper White:  3-5/8 x 4-7/8

INK:  Old Olive, Misty Moonlight, Smoky Slate, Memento Black

     BLENDS:  Misty Moonlight (L)

ACCESSORIES:  Nature's Thoughts Dies, Magnetic Platform, Big Shot, Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder, Glue Dots, Rhinestones

Here is what the inside looks like:

HOW I MADE IT:

1.  Use scoreboard to score card base at 4-1/4.  Fold card at scoreline and burnish with bone folder for a nice, crisp fold.

2.  Stamp signature stamp on back of card base using Misty Moonlight ink.

3.  Use Memento Black ink to stamp butterfly on lower right corner of inside panel.  Color in the butterfly using the Light Misty Moonlight Blend Marker.

4.  Adhere inside panels together; adhere to inside of card base.

5.  Run the 4-1/8 x 5-3/8 Misty Moonlight cardstock piece through the Big Shot using the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder.  Adhere the embossed cardstock to the front of card base.

6,  Cut out Whisper White die cut for front of card using the rectangle die from the Nature's Thoughts Dies and Big Shot.

7.  Use Misty Moonlight ink to stamp sentiment on lower right corner of the Whisper White die cut.

8.  Ink up leaf stamp using Old Olive ink.  Stamp on left side of Whisper White die cut.  Without reinking the stamp, stamp a second time next to the original stamped image.  Ink the stamp a second time, then "stamp off" (stamp it on a piece of scrap paper) before stamping on the Whisper White die cut on the other side of the original stamped leaf.

9.  Adhere the stamped Whisper White die cut to Old Olive cardstock.  Adhere panel to front of card base.

10.  Stamp butterfly image onto scrap of Whisper White cardstock using Memento Black ink.  Cut out butterfly using die from Nature's Thoughts Dies and Big Shot.  Curl the wings slightly using your fingers or a bone folder.

11.  Adhere butterfly to upper right corner of stamped Whisper White die cut using glue dot.

12.  Add rhinestones (see sample for placement).

I love the white rectangle die cut I used on this card.  Look closely and you can see the zigzag stitching the die adds around the edge--it is unusual and looks very pretty!

I hope you enjoyed my project today!  I will be back soon with some projects using the Peony Garden Suite.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Happy stamping,
Linda
