The Gang’s All Meer Happy Birthday!

Hi, Friends,
I hope everyone is doing well today.  I am loving the more sunny (even partly sunny) days!  We took a walk earlier this morning and sometimes take a second one in the afternoon.  Since our neighbors are also outside more right now it is a good time to meet our new neighbors.  The neighborhood is very busy, with four houses under construction.  Lots of truck traffic, delivering materials, and the construction crews start early and work until it is too dark to see.

Today I have a birthday card to share with you.

I used The Gang’s All Meer stamp set, one of the Sale-a-Bration stamp sets.

I stamped the meer cats onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock and used the Stitched Shapes dies and Big Shot to cut it out.  I colored the center meer cat using Crumb Cake Blends markers and stamped the birthday hat in Bermuda Bay ink, fussy cut it, and adhered it to the meer cat's head.

On the inside, I stamped the single meer cat, colored it with Blends and also added a birthday hat.

Here is my recipe for this project:

STAMPS:  The Gangs All Meer (SAB)

CARDSTOCK:
     Crumb Cake:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2, scored at 4-1/4
     Basic Black:  4 x 5-1/4
     Daffodil Delight:  3-7/8 x 5-1/8
     Birthday Bonanza DSP:  1-3/4 x 3-7/8
     Basic Black:  3 x 4
     Terracotta Tile:  2-7/8 x 3-7/8
     Basic Black:  3/8 x 3-7/8
          SCRAPS:  Daffodil Delight, Whisper White
          INSIDE:
               Basic Black:  3-3/4 x 5
               Whisper White:  3-5/8 x 4-7/8

INK:  Memento Black, Bermuda Bay

BLENDS:  Crumb Cake

ACCESSORIES:  Stitched Shapes Dies, Layering Circles Dies, Coastal Weave Embossing Folder, Magnetic Platform, Big Shot, Rhinestones, Dimensionals, Linen Thread

HOW I DID IT:

1.  Use scoreboard to score Crumb Cake card base at 4-1/4.  Fold and burnish with bone folder.

2.  Stamp signature stamp using Memento Black ink on back of card base.

3.  Use Memento Black ink to stamp meer cat on lower right corner of inside panel.  Color using markers.  Stamp birthday hat using Bermuda Bay ink on scrap of Whisper White cardstock.  Cut hat out using scissors and adhere to the meer cat's head.

4.  Adhere inside panels together; adhere to inside of card base.

5.  Use Coastal Weave Embossing Folder and Big Shot to emboss Daffodil Delight cardstock.

6.  Adhere strip of Birthday Bonanza DSP to embossed Daffodil Delight cardstock.  Adhere Basic Black strip to seam.  Wrap linen thread around Basic Black strip and tie.  Adhere panel to front of card base.

7.  Use Memento Black ink to stamp sentiment on lower right corner of Terracotta Tile cardstock.  Adhere to Basic Black cardstock.  Attach to card base using dimensionals.

8.  Stamp meer cats on scrap of Whisper White cardstock using Memento Black ink.  Cut out using framelit and Big Shot.  Color middle meer cat using markers.

9.  Cut out scalloped circle from Daffodil Delight cardstock using framelit and Big Shot.  Adhere stamped circle to scalloped circle.  Attach to card front using dimensionals.

10.  Use Bermuda Bay ink to stamp birthday hat on scrap of Whisper White cardstock.  Cut out using scissors and adhere to head of center meer cat.

11.  Add rhinestones to either side of sentiment (see sample for placement).

Hope you like the project I shared today!  Thanks so much for stopping by.  Don't forget to make-a-card send-a-card to someone special!

Happy stamping,
Linda

Rose Wonder Magnolia Card

Hi, Friends,
Today was a bit more challenging for me with the rain and gloomy day.  I really enjoyed hearing from several of you today (emails and texts are always, always welcome).  I got up early and made a quick dash into Publix this morning.  They open 7:00 am to 8:00 am on Tuesday and Wednesday just for senior adults.  So we are pretty well stocked for a while.  I think I will try the curbside delivery next time I need groceries.  I hear it is a good alternative to going to the store but I haven’t tried it.

Today, I am sharing a card I made for a new friend.  The sentiment is from the Rose Wonder stamp set, which is retired, but the cardstock, DSP and ribbon are all current.  Here is a picture of my project:

I used the Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper (DSP) and Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo.  The ribbon is adhered to the front panel of the card, then I trimmed the ends of the ribbon off.  I then tied the Mossy Meadow thread around the panel before I adhered it to the card base.

The inside of the card looks like this:

I stamped the small flower from the Magnolia Blossoms stamp set using Soft Suede ink.  I colored the flower using Mossy Meadow and Petal Pink Blends markers.

Here is my recipe for this project:

STAMPS:  Rose Wonder (Retired), Magnolia Blooms

CARDSTOCK:
     Mossy Meadow:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2, scored at 4-1/4
     Petal Pink:  4 x 5-1/4
     Magnolia Lane DSP:  3-7/8 x 3-7/8
     Magnolia Lane DSP:  1-1/2 x 3-7/8
          SCRAPS:  Whisper White, Mossy Meadow
                INSIDE:
                     Petal Pink:  3-3/4 x 5
                     Whisper White:  3-5/8 x 4-7/8

INK:  Mossy Meadow, Soft Suede

BLENDS:  Mossy Meadow (Light), Petal Pink (Dark)

ACCESSORIES:  Stitched Shapes Framelits, Ovals Layering Framelits, Magnetic Platform, Big Shot, Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo, Dimensionals

HOW I MADE IT:

1.  Use scoreboard to score Mossy Meadow card base at 4-1/4.  Fold and burnish the fold with a bone folder.
2.  Use Mossy Meadow ink to stamp signature stamp on back of card base.
3.  Stamp small flower using Soft Suede ink on lower right corner of inside panel.  Color using markers.
4.  Adhere inside panels together; adhere to inside of card base.
5.  Adhere printed paper to Petal Pink cardstock.  Adhere ribbon at "seam".  Tie Mossy Meadow thread around ribbon.
6.  Adhere above panel to front of card base.
7.  Use Mossy Meadow ink to stamp sentiment verse on scrap of Whisper White cardstock.  Cut out using framelit and Big Shot.
8.  Cut scallop oval from Mossy Meadow cardstock using Layering Oval Framelits and Big Shot.  Adhere sentiment panel to Mossy Meadow scalloped oval.
9.  Attach sentiment panel to front of card base using dimensionals.

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope it has been a good day for you.  Be sure to make a card and send it to someone special today!

Happy crafting,
Linda

SPECIAL SOMEONE CASE March 2020 Play Day

Hi, Friends,

Today was another cloudy day.  Doyle and I took a walk this morning and again after dinner.  I made Paula Deen's Crockpot Potato Soup for dinner--super yummy--and so very easy!  We worked on rearranging the storage room upstairs, and I worked on my craft room--organizing again.

I am sharing with you today the fourth project from March Play Day.  We used the Special Someone Stamp Set for the card, which is a CASE of a project created by Mary Fish (stampinpretty.com, post dated January 27, 2020).  Here is a picture of my project:

The little raccoon is SO CUTE!  I used the Stone Embossing Folder from the Power of Hope Bundle (SAB) for the Smoky Slate layer.  I also was able to use the Stitched So Sweetly dies from the January - June Mini Catalog (one of my all time favorite dies)!

The sentiment comes from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set and is stamped in Real Red, cut out with the Stitched Nested Labels Dies.  I added bling with the Frosted and Clear Enamel Dots.

On the inside, I stamped the flower with Memento black ink, colored it with Blends markers and added a Metallic Pearl to the center.

Here is my recipe for this card:

STAMPS:  Special Someone, Itty Bitty Greetings

CARDSTOCK:
     Basic Gray:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2, scored at 4-1/4
     Smoky Slate:  4 x 5-1/4
     Basic Gray:  3-1/2 x 4-1/2
     Whisper White:  2-5/8 x 3-3/4
          SCRAPS:  Whisper White
          INSIDE:
               Smoky Slate:  3-3/4 x 5
               Whisper White:  3-5/8 x 4-7/8

INK:  Memento Black, Real Red

BLENDS:  Smoky Slate (Light), Real Red (Dark)

ACCESSORIES:  Stitched So Sweetly Dies, Stitched Nested Labels Dies, Special Days Dies, Magnetic Platform, Big Shot, Stone Embossing Folder, Dimensionals, Frosted and Clear Enamel Dots, Metallic Pearls, White Gel Pen (non-SU).

HOW I MADE IT:

1.  Use the Scoreboard to score the Basic Gray card base at 4-1/4.  Fold and burnish the card base with bone folder.
2.  Use Memento black ink to stamp signature stamp on back of card base.
3.  Stamp flower using Memento black ink on lower right corner of inside panel.  Color using marker.  Add silver metallic pearl to center of flower.
4.  Adhere inside panels together; adhere to inside of card base.
5.  Use Stone Embossing Folder and Big Shot to emboss Smoky Slate Cardstock.  Adhere the embossed cardstock to front of card base.
6.  Use Memento black ink to stamp the raccoon on lower left corner of Whisper White cardstock.  Color using marker.  Add balloon strings by stamping the with Memento black ink.
7.  Die cut a scalloped rectangle from Basic Gray using the Stitched So Sweetly Dies (use the largest die).  Adhere the stamped panel to Basic Gray scalloped die cut.  Attach to card front using dimensionals.
8.  Stamp two heart balloons using Memento black ink on scrap of Whisper White cardstock.  Color using marker.  Use white gel pen to add small streak of white on each balloon.  Cut out balloons using framelit (Special Days Dies) and Big Shot.  Adhere one balloon to card front; attach second balloon to card front using dimensionals.
9.  Use Real Red ink to stamp sentiment on scrap of Whisper White cardstock.  Cut out using framelit (Stitched Nested Labels) and Big Shot.  Adhere to card front (see sample for placement).
10.  Add Clear Epoxy Droplets to sentiment panel (see sample for placement).

Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope you are having a wonderful weekend.  In these crazy days when we are all "social distancing", consider making a card and sending it to someone special to make their day!  After all, who doesn't like HAPPY MAIL!

Happy stamping,
Linda

Timeless Tropical Rest and Relax

Hi, Friends,

It has been a BEAUTIFUL day today!  About 75 degrees and sunny a big part of the day!  I was SO EXCITED to see the sun--it feels like it has rained non-stop recently.  Doyle actually mowed the lawn today for the first time.  Took a walk through the neighborhood after lunch and took our plates out to the back porch to eat dinner.  Sunshine and warm weather makes the Coronovirus quarantine almost doable!

I have another project from March Play Day to share with you.  We used the Timeless Tropical stamp set and the gorgeous Tropical Oasis DSP on this card; also the coordinating In The Tropics Dies.

I love the Braided Burlap Trim; it works so well with this awesome suite of products!  I used it at the "seam" of the Designer Series Paper and the embossed panel (I used the fantastic Coastal Weave Embossing Folder).

The big hibiscus flower is so much fun to color!  I stamped the flower and leaves with Soft Suede ink on a scrap of Whisper White Cardstock, then colored the leaves with Old Olive Blends, the flower with the Light Pumpkin Pie Blend, and the center of the flower with Light Daffodil Delight.

The inside of the card turned out like this:

Since there is no stamped sentiment, you could use this card for several occasions:  birthday card, retirement, vacation, sabbatical, etc. just by what you write on the inside of the card.  I stamped the pineapple in Soft Suede ink and colored it the the Old Olive and Daffodil Delight Blends.

RECIPE FOR THE TIMELESS TROPICAL CARD:

STAMPS:  Timeless Tropical

CARDSTOCK:
     Soft Suede:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2, scored at 4-1/4
     Old Olive:  4 x 5-1/4
     Mint Macaron:  3-7/8 x 5-1/8
     Tropical Oasis DSP:  1-1/2 x 5-1/8
     SCRAPS:  Whisper White
     INSIDE:
          Old Olive:  3-3/4 x 5
          Whisper White:  3-5/8 x 4-7/8

INK:  Soft Suede

BLENDS:  Old Olive, Daffodil Delight (Light), Pumpkin Pie (Light)

ACCESSORIES:  Rectangle Stitched Dies, In The Tropics Dies, Coastal Weave Embossing Folder, Magnetic Platform, Big Shot, Braided Burlap Trim, Dimensionals, Rhinestones

HOW I MADE IT:
1.  Use Scoreboard to score Soft Suede cardstock at 4-1/4.  Fold card base and burnish with bone folder.
2.  Use Soft Suede ink to stamp signature stamp on back of card base.
3.  Stamp pineapple using Soft Suede ink on lower right corner of inside panel.  Color using markers.
4.  Adhere inside panels together; adhere to inside of card base.
5.  Emboss Mint Macaron Cardstock using the Coastal Weave Embossing Folder and Big Shot.  Adhere patterned paper to embossed Mine Macaron cardstock.  Adhere Braided Burlap Trim at "seam".  Adhere panel to Old Olive cardstock.  Adhere panel to front of card base.
6.  Cut out Stitched Rectangle Die from Whisper White Cardstock.  Use the fourth from largest die.  Stamp sentiment on upper right corner of die cut using Soft Suede ink.  Attach to front of card base using dimensionals.
7.  Stamp one flower and two leaves using Soft Suede ink on scrap of Whisper White Cardstock.  Cut out using framelits and Big Shot.  Color using markers.
8.  Adhere leaves to die cut; attach flower using dimensionals.  See sample for placement.
9.  Add rhinestones (see sample for placement).

Hope you enjoyed the project.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

FOREVER BLOSSOMS FRIEND!

Hi, Friends!
Waking up to the dark, rainy morning made me want to throw my covers over my head and go back to sleep!  But it also made me thankful that I didn’t have to go anywhere today!  I tweaked some storage in my craft room this morning, plan to take a walk sometime this afternoon (it finally quit raining), and work on some new projects this afternoon!  In the meantime, I wanted to share another project from our Play Day.

This beautiful card uses the stamp set Forever Blossoms and the coordinating Cherry Blossoms Dies, both found in our current January - June Mini Catalog.   I really LOVE the Parisian Blossoms DSP--hard to see in the picture but each flower on the DSP has a shiney silver center!  And the Petal Pink Metallic Edge Ribbon and Champagne Rhinestones are perfection!

The inside is simple, just a single flower on the lower right corner, colored with markers with a Champagne Rhinestone in the center!

Here is my recipe for the card:

STAMPS:  Forever Blossoms

CARDSTOCK:
     Crumb Cake:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2, scored at 4-1/4
     Basic Black:  4 x 5-1/4
     Parisian Blossoms DSP:  3-7/8 x 3-7/8
     Parisian Blossoms DSP:  1-1/2 x 3-7/8
     Basic Black:  2-3/8 x 3-5/8
     SCRAPS:  Pool Party, Whisper White
     INSIDE:
          Basic Black:  3-3/4 x 5
          Pool Party:  3-5/8 x 4-7/8
          Whisper White:  3-1/2 x 4-3/4

INK:  Memento Black

BLENDS:  Petal Pink (Dark), Old Olive (Light)

ACCESSORIES:  Stitched Rectangle Dies, Cherry Blossom Dies, Magnetic Platform, Big Shot, Petal Pink Metallic Edge Ribbon, Champagne Rhinestones, Dimensionals

HOW I MADE IT:

1.  Use Scoreboard to score the card base at 4-1/4.  Fold card base and burnish with bone folder.

2.  Use Memento Black ink to stamp signature stamp on back of card base.

3.  Stamp flower using Memento Black ink on lower right corner of inside panel.  Color flower using markers.  Add rhinestone to center of flower.

4.  Adhere inside panels together; adhere to inside of card base.

5.  Adhere patterned paper to Basic Black cardstock.  Tie ribbon at seam.  Adhere panel to front of card base.

6.  Use Stitched Rectangle die (fourth die from smallest in center) to die cut a Pool Party die cut.  Use Memento Black ink to stamp sentiment on lower right corner of Pool Party die cut.  Adhere to Basic Black cardstock.

7.  Attach Pool Party sentiment panel to front of card base using dimensionals.

8.  Stamp large flower using Memento Black ink on scrap of Whisper White cardstock.  Color using markers.  Cut out using framelit and Big Shot.

9.  Attach flower die cut to Pool Party sentiment panel using dimensionals.

10.  Add rhinestones (see sample for placement).

I hope you are having a wonderful day, in spite of the Coronovirus making us stay in, and in spite of the rainy weather this morning!  Stay safe and sane (Tip:  crafting can really help!) and I hope to see you again soon!

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy crafting,
Linda

CASED Grace’s Garden MARCH 2020 Play Day

Hi, Friends,
It has been a long process, but I finally was able to hold a Saturday Play Day last Saturday.  Moving is definitely not for the faint of heart and getting my craft room set up has been slow.  I am still moving things around.  But the good news is that I am making progress and every day gets a tiny bit more organized.  I hope to post a picture of my craft room (at least as it is now) soon!  I really do love working in it!

One of my favorite sets in the January - June Mini Catalog is the Grace’s Garden Stamp Set, so I decided to use it for March Play Day.  I found a card on Pinterest that I fell in love with and pretty much straight CASED it with only a few changes.  You can find the card I CASED by Kerry Bunting, kbpapercraft.blogspot.com, post dated January 3, 2020.  Here is a picture of my project:

and the inside looks like this:

Here is my recipe for the card:

STAMPS:  Grace's Garden, Label Me Bold

     Highland Heather:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 scored at 4-1/4
     Highland Heather:  4-1/8 x 5-3/8
     Whisper White:  3-1/8 x 4-1/2
     Subtles 6 x 6 DSP:  3-1/2 x 4-3/4
          SCRAPS:  Whisper White
          INSIDE:
               Whisper White:  3-3/4 x 5

INK:  Memento Black

BLENDS:  Highland Heather (Light), Old Olive (Light), Petal Pink (Dark), Daffodil Delight (Dark)

ACCESSORIES:  Subtles Embossing Folder, Stitched Rectangle Dies, Stitched So Sweetly Dies, Garden Gateway Dies, Magnetic Platform, Big Shot, Linen Thread, Dimensionals, Rhinestones

HOW I MADE IT:
1.  Score card base at 4-1/4, fold at score line and burnish with bone folder.
2.  Use Memento Black ink to stamp signature stamp on back of card base.
3.  Stamp flower on lower right corner of inside panel using Memento Black ink.  Color using markers.
4.  Adhere inside panel to inside of card base.
5.  Emboss the 4-1/8 x 5-3/8 Highland Heather cardstock using the Subtles Embossing Folder.  Adhere embossed cardstock to front of card base.
6.  Adhere Gingham DSP to Whisper White cardstock.  Tie linen Thread around panel.  Attach to front of card base using dimensionals.
7.  Use next to largest scalloped frame die from the Stitched So Sweetly dies to cut a panel from Whisper White cardstock.
8.  Use Memento Black ink to stamp flowers on scraps of Whisper White cardstock.  Color using markers.  Cut out using Garden Gateway Dies and Big Shot.  Adhere flowers to scalloped die cut.
9.  Attach scalloped panel to card front using dimensionals.
10.  Stamp sentiment from LABEL ME BOLD stamp set on scrap of Whisper White cardstock using Memento Black ink.  Fussy cut using scissors.  Adhere to scalloped panel (see sample for placement).
11.  Add rhinestones (see sample for placement).

Thanks for stopping by to visit my little blog.  These are crazy days with the Coronovirus fears; we all need to take good care of ourselves and our families.  Stamping and crafting are good ways to help keep your sanity while you are staying in more.  Doyle and I are also trying to take a walk around our neighborhood (even on the cooler days it is good to get out of the house for a few minutes) and we are meeting our new neighbors when they are outside!

Happy crafting,
Linda
