SPARKLE OF THE SEASON CHRISTMAS CARD!

 Hi, Friends,

I hope you had a “Merry and Bright” Christmas!  Brian and Lia came over to help us celebrate, so we had a good time.  We had our Christmas meal on Christmas Eve:  a Butternut Squash Galette, Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, Grape Salad, Rolls, and Strawberry Cake for dessert.  I didn’t take any pictures of the food, but it was good.

I still have a couple of projects to share with you, so will get on with it!

This card was inspired by one designed and made by Anne Marie Hile, stampinanne.com, post dated November 14, 2021.

MY RECIPE:

     STAMPS:  Sparkle of the Season

     CARDSTOCK:  

          Smoky Slate:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2, scored at 4-1/4

          Basic Black:   4 x 5-1/4

          Basic White:  3-7/8 x 3-7/8

          Basic Black:  3-1/8 x 3-1/8

          Smoky Slate:  3 x 3

          Pattern Party DSP:  2-7/8 x 2-7/8

          Pattern Party DSP:  1-1/8 x 3-7/8

               SCRAPS:  Smoky Slate

               INSIDE:  

                    Basic Black:  3-3/4 x 5

                    Basic White:  3-5/8 x 4-7/8

          INK:  Memento Black

          ACCESSORIES:  Harvest Dies, SU Die Cut Machine, Matte Black Dots, White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon, Wonderfom Snowflakes, Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Rhinestones, Timeworn Type Embossing Folder

The Pattern Place DSP is a hostess item in the Annual Catalog.  It has a lot of pretty colored patterned papers on one side and lots of black and white colored prints on the other side.  The inside looks like this:

HOW I MADE IT:

1.  Use Memento Black ink to stamp signature stamp on back of card base.

2.  Stamp sentiment using Memento Black ink on upper left corner of inside Cardstock.  

3.  Use Memento Black ink to stamp snowflakes on lower left corner of inside Cardstock.

4.  Adhere inside panels together; adhere to inside of Cardstock.

5.  Add rhinestones to snowflakes.

6.  Emboss Basic White Cardstock using Timeworn Type Embossing Folder and SU Die Cut Machine.

7.  Adhere Embossed Basic White Cardstock to right side of Basic Black Cardstock.

8.  Adhere strip of Pattern Party DSP to left side of Basic Black Cardstock.  Tie White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon around the strip of Pattern Party DSP.  Adhere panel to front of card base.

9.  Adhere Pattern Party DSP to Smoky Slate Cardstock; adhere panel to Basic Black Cardstock.  Adhere panel to center of Embossed Basic White Cardstock on the right side of the front of the card base.

10.  Use glue dots to adhere Wonderful Snowflake to center of Pattern Party DSP.

11.  Stamp sentiment using Memento Black ink on a scrap of Smoky Slate Cardstock.  Cut out using long die from Harvest Dies.  Cut off ends of die cut to make straight ends.  

12.  Attach sentiment to front of card base using dimensionals.

13.  Add Matte Black Dots (see sample for placement).

ENCIRCLED IN WARMTH CHRISTMAS CARD!

Yes, I DO have another Christmas card project for you today, this time using the Encircled in Warmth stamp set.  Here is my card:

MY RECIPE FOR THIS CARD:

     STAMPS:  Encircled in Warmth, Sparkle of the Season

     CARDSTOCK:

          Crumb Cake:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2, scored at 4-1/4

          Old Olive:  4 x 5-1/4

          Heartwarming Hugs DSP:  3-7/8 x 3-7/8

          Heartwarming Hugs DSP:  1-1/2 x 3-7/8

               SCRAPS:  Basic White, Old Olive

               INSIDE:

                    Real Red:  3-3/4 x 5

                    Basic White:  3-5/8 x 4-7/8

     INK:  Old Olive

     STAMPIN’ WRITE MARKERS:  Real Red, Old Olive

     ACCESSORIES:  Encircled in Beauty Dies, Ornate Layering Dies, Stitched Shapes Dies (retired), SU Die Cut Machine, Gilded Gems, Dimensionals

To make the sentiment two different colors, we used the markers to color directly on the stamp, “huffed” on the stamp, and then stamped it on a scrap of Basic White Cardstock.  It is important to use a water based stamp like the Stampin’ Write Markers when you color directly onto a rubber stamp.  Don’t use your Stampin’ Blends for this technique.

HOW I MADE THIS CARD:

1.  Use Old Olive ink to stamp signature stamp on back of card base.

2.  Stamp leaf image on lower right corner of inside panel using Old Olive ink.

3.  Adhere inside panels together; adhere to inside of card base.

4.  Adhere patterned paper to Old Olive Cardstock.  Adhere Old Olive die cut at seam.  Adhere panel to front of card base.

5.  Use markers to color sentiment stamp (ONLY USE WATER BASE MARKERS TO COLOR DIRECTLY ON STAMPS).  “Huff” the stamp to moisten the ink.  Stamp on scrap of Basic White Cardstock.  Cut out using die and SU Die Cut Machine.

6.  Adhere Old Olive die cut to front of card base.

7.  Attach stamped sentiment to front of card base using dimensionals.

8.  Add Gilded Gems embellishments to front of card base (see sample for placement).

We made this card at November Play Day, and I also added it to my last two card buffets. 

 We got an awesome package from my sister yesterday:  her homemade chocolates!  My sister is an excellent chocolatier!  No, we didn’t eat them all at one sitting!
