BEAUTIFUL AUTUMN GRATITUDE CARD PART TWO!

 Hi, Friends,

It is another beautiful sunny day today!  I hope you had an awesome Thanksgiving yesterday with lots of yummy food.  We had a good day--we ordered takeout from Crackerbarrel, ate at home and then went to the Greenway for a walk.

We got the tree up (no decorations yet) and managed to get 12 Christmas cards ready to mail.  So it was a somewhat productive day (although when I got home from our walk, I landed on the couch with my book and read to the very end).

Anyway, I have another autumn themed project for you today!  This card uses the Beautiful Autumn stamp set and the gorgeous Gilded Autumn DSP:

MY RECIPE:

     STAMPS:  Beautiful Autumn

     CARDSTOCK:

          Crumb Cake:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2, scored at 4-1/4

          Early Espresso:  4 x 5-1/4

          Mint Macaron:  3-7/8 x 5-1/8

          Guilded Autumn DSP:  3-3/4 x 3-3/4

          Guilded Autumn DSP:  1-1/2 x 3-3/4

          Crumb Cake:  1-3/16 x 2-9/16

          SCRAPS:  Early Espresso

               INSIDE:

                    Early Espresso:  3-3/4 x 5

                    Mint Macaron:  3-5/8 x 4-7/8

                    Very Vanilla:  3-1/2 x 4-3/4

     INK:  Early Espresso

     BLENDS:  Mint Macaron, Cajun Craze

ACCESSORIES:  Stitched So Sweetly Dies, Magnetic Platform, Die Cut Machine, Basketweave Ribbon, Linen Thread, Gilded Gems, Dimensionals

The inside of the card looks like this:

I used Early Espresso ink to stamp the five leaves at the bottom of the inside panel, then colored the leaves using my Mint Macaron and Cajun Craze blends.

HOW I MADE THE CARD:

1.  Use Early Espresso ink to stamp the signature stamp on the back of the card base.

2.  Stamp the small leaves across the bottom of the inside panel using Early Espresso ink.  Color using Mint Macaron and Cajun Craze blends markers.

3.  Adhere inside panels together; adhere to inside of card base.

4.  Adhere patterned Gilded Autumn DSP to top of Mint Macaron cardstock; adhere striped Gilded Autumn DSP to the bottom portion of the Mint Macaron cardstock.

5.  Adhere Mint Macaron Basketweave ribbon to the "seam" of the cardstock.  Tie Linen Thread around the Mint Macaron Basketweave ribbon.

6.  Adhere the Mint Macaron layer to the Early Espresso cardstock; adhere to front of card base.

7.  Use Early Espresso ink to stamp sentiment on Crumb Cake cardstock.

8.  Cut scalloped rectangle from Early Espresso Cardstock using Stitched So Sweetly dies and a die cut machine.

9.  Adhere sentiment rectangle to scalloped rectangle; attach to front of card base using dimensionals.

10.  Add Gilded Gems to sentiment panel (see sample for placement).

Hope you are having a great Friday!  Stop by soon to see my next project!

Happy stamping,

Linda

LOVE OF LEAVES HELLO!

 Hi, Friends,

It is hard not to feel a little bit down today; the weather is dreary and rainy and it is the day before Thanksgiving, 2020.  The key is the 2020 part.  No family is headed our way, so we are planning a pretty non-traditional Thanksgiving tomorrow.  I plan to make a cherry pie at some point over the weekend, but we are planning to get carryout from Crackerbarrel for our meal.  On the positive side, I am thankful to not be cooking a huge meal (at least huge for me) but I think I will be a little more thankful to cook a big meal the next holiday we can have family.  And our family does plan to spend some time together virtually this weekend.

Our neighborhood had an outdoor Halloween gathering this year and I made some fall themed Chex Mix.  I may regret it later, but I made another batch this afternoon and have been snacking on it ever since!  It makes a big batch, but I bagged it up in snack size ziplocks (that is how I took it to the Halloween gathering to make it COVID safe).  So if you get a snack craving, come to my door and ask for a bag of Chex Mix!

I have another fun project to share with you today, a card made with the Love of Leaves stamp set:

If you look at the picture of the card closely, the top background paper is DSP that is Crumb Cake with speckles all over it (which I adore).  Look closely at the top of the card and you will see that I ran it through the Die Cut Machine with one of the Stitched Leaves Dies to make the "stitching" along the top of the DSP--is that WOW or what?  The Mint Macaron Basketweave Ribbon just looks like a cozy sweater next to that Early Espresso Houndstooth DSP!

MY RECIPE:

     STAMPS:  Love of Leaves

     CARDSTOCK:

          Mint Macaron:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2, scored at 4-1/4

          Early Espresso:  4 x 5-1/4

          Gilded Autumn DSP:  3-7/8 x 3-7/8

          Gilded Autumn DSP:  1-1/2 x 3-7/8

          SCRAPS:  Early Espresso, Very Vanilla

          INSIDE:

               Early Espresso:  3-3/4 x 5

               Very Vanilla:  3-5/8 x 4-7/8

INK:  Early Espresso, Mint Macaron, Cajun Craze

ACCESSORIES:  Stitched Shapes Dies, Circles Layering Dies, Stitched Leaves Dies, Magnetic Cutting Plate, Die Cut Machine, Braided Linen Trim, Linen Thread, Basketweave Ribbon, Glue Dots, Rhinestones, Dimensionals

Here is what the card looks like on the inside:

I stamped one of the leaf images from the Love of Leaves stamp set using Cajun Craze ink in the bottom right corner.

HOW I MADE THE CARD:

1.  Use Early Espresso ink to stamp the signature stamp on the back of the card base.

2.  Stamp the leaf image on the bottom right corner of the inside panel using Cajun Craze ink.  Adhere the inside panels together; adhere to inside of card base.

3.  Run the square DSP thru the Die Cut Machine using the "stitched" lines die to create the stitched effect at the top of the card.

4.  Adhere DSP to the Early Espresso cardstock.  Adhere the Mint Macaron Basketweave Ribbon at the seam.  Tie Braided Linen Trim around the Basketweave Ribbon.  Adhere panel to the front of the card base.

5.  Use Circle Layering Dies and the Die Cut Machine to cut a scalloped circle from Early Espresso Cardstock.

6.  Cut a circle from Very Vanilla Cardstock using the Stitched Shapes Dies and the Die Cut Machine.

7.  Stamp the sentiment using Early Espresso ink onto the Stitched Very Vanilla cardstock circle.  Adhere sentiment circle to the scalloped Early Espresso circle.  Attach the sentiment circle to the front of the card base using dimensionals.

8.  Use Early Espresso ink, Mint Macaron ink, and Cajun Craze ink to stamp leaves on scraps of Very Vanilla cardstock.  Cut out using the Stitched Leaves Dies and the Die Cut Machine.  For simplicity, I cut off the stems of the Cajun Craze and Mint Macaron leaves.  Adhere the leaves together, then adhere to the sentiment circle on the front of the card base.

9.  Tie a double bow using Linen Thread; adhere to the bundled leaves using a Glue Dot.

10.  Add rhinestones; see sample for placement.

And that's my project for today!  A fun aside--I had to stop typing and clean off my laptop keyboard while I was working on this post because I had a bag of Chex Mix and got my fingers messy (and thus my keyboard messy).  Oh well, the Chex Mix was wonderful!!!

I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving, whether it be with lots of family and friends or just a few of you this year!  And if you don't have extra family visiting this year, maybe you will get a little bit of extra crafting time!

Happy stamping,

Linda

BEAUTIFUL AUTUMN GRATITUDE CARD!

Hi, Friends,

I am enjoying this beautiful sunshine; I honestly don't know if it is cold outside, but inside it is a gorgeous day.  Today I am sharing with you a gratitude card (AKA a thank you card) made with the fabulous Gilded Autumn DSP.  I have to admit that I have used up several packs of this DSP this year.  I love the colors and the little bit of "shine"!  If you look on page 44 of the August - December 2020 Mini Catalog, you can see a picture of the card that I have CASED here (yes, it is definitely OK to use the cards in the catalogs as inspiration).  With all of that said, here is my card for today:

MY RECIPE:

STAMPS:  Beautiful Autumn

CARDSTOCK:

     Crumb Cake:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2, scored at 4-1/4

     Early Espresso:  3-3/4 x 5

     Gilded Autumn DSP:  1-1/2 x 3-5/8 (3)

SCRAPS:  Very Vanilla, Early Espresso, Brushed Metallic CS

          INSIDE:

               Early Espresso:  3-3/4 x 5

               Very Vanilla:  3-5/8 x 4-7/8

INK:  Cajun Craze, Early Espresso

BLENDS:  Cajun Craze (Light)

ACCESSORIES:  Hippo and Friends Dies, Sunflower Dies, Autumn Essentials Dies, Rhinestones, Dimensionals, Glue Dots

The inside of the card looks like this:

I simply stamped the leaf from the Beautiful Autumn stamp set using Early Espresso ink and colored the leaves with my Cajun Craze blend marker.

HOW I MADE THE CARD:

1.  Use Early Espresso ink to stamp the signature stamp on the back of the card base.

2.  Stamp leaf image using Early Espresso ink on the lower right corner of the inside panel.  Color the leaf image using Cajun Craze blend marker.

3.  Adhere inside panels together; adhere to inside of card base.

4.  Lay the three DSP panels on the Early Espresso cardstock to determine placement.  Adhere DSP pieces to Early Espresso cardstock.  (I always adhere down the middle panel first, then the two outside panels).  Adhere the Early Espresso panel to the front of the card base.

5.  Use Cajun Craze ink to stamp the sentiment onto a scrap of Very Vanilla cardstock.  Cut out using Hippo and Friends dies and Die Cut Machine.

6.  Use the larger die from Hippo and Friends to cut a die cut from Early Espresso cardstock.

7.  Adhere the stamped sentiment to the Early Espresso die cut.

8.  Cut several leaf stems from Brushed Metallic Cardstock using dies from the Sunflower Dies and the Autumn Essentials Dies.

9.  Lay the sentiment panel on the front of the card base.  Determine placement for the Brushed Metallic Cardstock leaf stem die cuts and adhere them to the front of the card base using glue dots.

10.  Attach the sentiment panel to the front of the card base using dimensionals.

11.  Add rhinestones to the sentiment panel.  See sample for placement.

Thanks for stopping by today!  As always, I am grateful for you and today I am especially grateful that I had NO COMPUTER GLITCHES!

Thanksgiving is only a few days away and whether you are celebrating it with family and friends or in a smaller group this year, be grateful for the little things and express your gratitude to others.

Happy stamping,

Linda

SO SENTIMENTAL/LOVE OF LEAVES FALL CARD!

Hi, Friends,

You have no idea how frustrating it gets for me to get these blog posts created!  I can create ten cards in the amount of time it takes me to get this done!  This morning, I had issues with getting my pictures to update on the Mac; got that fixed and tried to sign in to my blog and was told that my browser didn't support blogger (yeah, I know, I don't know what that means either--give me some ink and stamps, I understand them)!  But, because I love you guys and want to try to keep you in touch with some of my projects, I presevered, managed to download and install another browser and here I am--after eating three mini-snicker bars and shedding a few tears!  But enough of that--lets get on to the fun stuff!

Here is my project for today:

It is a simple thank you card using the So Sentimental and Love of Leaves stamp sets.  Here is the inside of the card:

I used Cajun Craze ink to stamp a leaf in the lower right corner of the inside panel.

     CARDSTOCK:

          Crumb Cake:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 scored at 4-1/4

     INK:  Cajun Craze, Early Espresso

ACCESSORIES:  Stitched Shapes Dies, Layering Circles Dies, Ornate Layers Dies, Magnetic             Platform, Die Cut Machine, Dimensionals, Gilded Gems

HOW I MADE IT:

1.  Use Early Espresso ink to stamp signature stamp on back of card base.

2.  Stamp leaf on lower right corner of inside panel using Cajun Craze ink.  Adhere inside panels together; adhere to inside of card base.

3.  Adhere "leaf" DSP to top of Early Espresso panel; adhere "striped" DSP to bottom of Early Espresso panel.
