My very first thought when I saw the lattice die in the Stampin Up catalog was that it looked like an old fashioned wedding ring quilt! So when I saw some cards with "quilts" I decided I needed to make one with the lattice die. I have seen similar cards, but didn't write down any names, so if you have made one of these, it probably inspired this card!
Here is the recipe:
STAMPS: Bring on the Cake
CARDSTOCK:
Baja Breeze: 4-1/4 x 11 scored at 5-1/2
Twitterpated DSP: 3-3/8 x 3-3/8
Whisper White: 4-1/4 x 5-1/2
Twitterpated DSP: 3-1/2 x 3-1/2
INSIDE:
Blushing Bride: 3-1/2 x 4-3/4
Whisper White: 3-3/8 x 4-3/4
Twitterpated DSP: 1 x 3-3/8
INK: Island Indigo, Crumb Cake
ACCESSORIES: Lattice Die, Finial Press Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Sponge, Baja Breeze Seam Binding Ribbon, Paper Snips, Scalloped Border Punch, Dimensionals, Tombo Multi Liquid Glue
To make the quilt panel, we glued the Whisper White Lattice Die Cut onto the "calico" piece of Twitterpated, let it dry for just a minute and then cut around the outside of the Lattice Die cut. We then glued that piece onto the Blushing Bride piece of Twitterpated DSP. The panel was then run through the Big Shot with the Finial Press Embossing Folder and sponged lightly over the top and around the edges with Soft Suede ink.
I did not take a picture of the inside of the card, but the sentiment from Bring on the Cake stamp set reads: "Not just a year older, but a year better." which I thought went perfectly with a quilt!
Thanks for stopping by!
Happy stampin and scrappin,
Linda
