Milwaukee Regional Swap Cards!

On April 8, 2010, Doyle and I were privileged to fly to Milwaukee for two reasons:  (1) so I could go to the Stampin Up Regional Seminar in Milwaukee (he went to the Harley Davidson Museum!); and (2) so we could visit our daughter, son-in-law, and grandcat in Madison, about an hour and a half from Milwaukee!  I worked hard to get swap cards ready; since this was my very first Stampin Up event, I didn't know what to expect, and I didn't want to have swap cards that nobody wanted!  So, I bought the pre-order stamp set AWASH WITH FLOWERS, and made four swap different swap cards:

SWAP CARD ONE:

This was the first swap card I made.  It's hard to see on the picture, but the colored squares with the flowers are popped up on dimensionals.  Here is my recipe:

STAMP SETS:  Awash with Flowers, Short and Sweet
CARDSTOCK:  Kraft, Basic Black, Whisper White, Ballet Blue, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red
INK:  Basic Black, Ballet Blue, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red
ACCESSORIES:  Linen Thread, Dimensionals, 1-1/4" and 1-3/8" Square Punches, Mat Pack and Paper Piercer

SWAP CARD TWO:

My recipe for this card is:

STAMP SETS:  Awash with Flowers, Great Friend
CARDSTOCK:  Pumpkin Pie, Melon Mambo, Basic Black and Whisper White
INK:  Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Melon Mambo
ACCESSORIES:  Small and Large Oval Punches, Corner Rounder Punch, Scallop Edge Punch, Vintage Brads, Color Spritzer Tool, Dimensionals, Mat Pack, Paper Piercer, Sponge, Perfect Polka Dot Embossing Folder, Big Shot

It is hard to see, but the Melon Mambo portion at the bottom of the card was run through the Big Shot and has "Perfect Polka Dots" embossed on it.  It was also sponged lightly with Pumpkin Pie ink.

SWAP CARD THREE:

If you came to April Play Day, you will recognize this card, because we made it there!  I liked it so much, I decided to make some for my swaps, as well!

My recipe for this card:

STAMP SETS:  Awash with Flowers, Great Friend
CARDSTOCK:  Kraft, Whisper White
INK:  Basic Black, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Summer Sun, Real Red, Ruby Red, More Mustard
ACCESSORIES:  1/4" Old Olive Grograin Ribbon, Dimensionals, Scallop Circles #2 Die, Big Shot, Color Spritzer Tool, Sponge

SWAP CARD NUMBER FOUR:

This card was inspired by the card on the flyer from Stampin Up for the Two-Step into Spring Promo.  It was more pastel colors, but the layout is somewhat similar.

My recipe is:

STAMP SETS:  Awash with Flowers, Teeny Tiny Wishes
CARDSTOCK:  Kraft, Whisper White, Old Olive
INK:  Basic Black, Old Olive, More Mustard, Summer Sun, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red, Ballet Blue
ACCESSORIES:  Top Note Die, Big Shot, Color Spritzer Tool, Dimensionals, Scallop Edge Punch, Sponge

I really like this stamp set (Awash with Flowers), and especially like the clear mounted stamps for the two-step stamping, because it makes it easy to see where to stamp the second time!

I had a wonderful time at the regional seminar, and learned a LOT of new things that I will be sharing in Play Days to come!

Thanks for looking!

Happy stampin and scrappin,
Linda

Color Renovations!

Stampin Up has announced a Color Renovation!  This means that we get to say goodbye to some of our old favorites (for me Brocade Blue), hello to some new wonderful colors (like Cherry Cobbler--doesn't that make you hungry?), and welcome back to some old in-colors (we get to keep Soft Suede!).  I am excited about all of the new possibilities with our new color lines, and can't wait to get to play with some of our new colors.  The new colors will be available beginning July 1 with the new catalog.

So, if you have old favorites you really don't want to part with, be sure you have all of the reinkers and markers and cardstock you want before we say goodbye in June!!!

Here are some charts showing new colors, returning in-colors, and retiring colors:

Here is a color chart to show you the new colors:
