July Play Day Double Pocket Card

At our July Play Day, we made a double pocket card.  I made it a flat card, with a tag insert, and a second pocket that could hold a gift card, check, money, or another smaller tag.  Here is a picture of what we created:

I used the Double Pocket Card Tutorial by Beate Johns on Splitcoast Stampers, then made some minor changes in the way I made my card.  I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the new Greenhouse Gala Designer Series Paper, and it was perfect for this card!  Here is a recipe for our card:

CARDSTOCK AND PAPER:
     Baja Breeze 4-1/4 x 5-1/2
     Pear Pizzazz 4 x 5-1/4
     Whisper White 5 x 11-1/4  (score at 3-3/4 and 7-1/2)
     Greenhouse Gala DS Paper:  3 panels 3-5/8 x 2-1/8
Scraps of Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz, Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip and Greenhouse Gala
     For the Tag:  Chocolate Chip 2-7/8 x 4 and Whisper White 2-3/4 x 3-7/8

INK:
     Chocolate Chip

STAMPS:
     Fundamental Phrases

PUNCHES:
     Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch
     Scallop Trim Border Punch
     Scallop Oval Punch
     1-3/4 x 7/8 Oval Punch
     1-3/8 x 5/8 Oval Punch
     Corner Rounder Punch
     1-1/4 Circle Punch
     Cropadile

OTHER ACCESSORIES:
     Metallic Brads (Antique Brass)
     Dimensionals

     Paper Piercer
     Mat Pack
     Chocolate Chip Ribbon (Retired)
     Sticky Strip

Place the 5 x 11-1/4 Whisper White cardstock on your cutter and score at 3-3/4 and 7-1/2.

Trim 1-7/8 from the top of two panels (see picture):

Next trim 7/8" from the top of the end panel that has already been cut down.  Your cardstock will look like this:

Fold your score lines mountain valley style, so your cardstock looks like:

Adhere trim to the bottom panel of your Designer Series paper:

Adhere your 3 panels of Designer Series paper to your Whisper White Cardstock base:

Now your card should look something like this:

Unfold your first pocket and add Sticky Tape to the side and bottom of the pocket flap:

Take the tape liner off, fold the pocket back and adhere to the pocket base.  Unfold the second pocket and add Sticky Tape to the side and bottom of the pocket flap.  Then take the tape liner off, fold the pocket back and adhere to the pocket base as well.

Your card should look something like this:

Adhere your Pear Pizzazz cardstock to your Baja Breeze Cardstock.  Adhere the finished Pocket Base to the Pear Pizzazz cardstock, and add your sentiment, which has been stamped, punched and adhered together:

Adhere the two layers of your tag together, after the corners of both layers have been corner rounded.  Add trim (I used a circle punch of the Greenhouse Gala DS Paper and a strip of Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch to my tag, then punched a hole through the center of the Greenhouse Gala DS Paper and tied a strip of Whisper White 3/8" Taffetta ribbon through it).

This card could be used as a birthday or anniversary or thank you card, since the sentiment on the outside says "For You".  You could be more specific on the inside punch by adding another stamped or handwritten sentiment.  It would be a great card to have on hand for a last minute gift!

Thanks for looking!

Happy stampin and scrappin!
Linda
