Cards for Kim!

My daughter, Kim, came to the house to do laundry just after my Open House (end of June). She saw the card we had made with the Animal Stories stamp set and the coordinating DS paper and fell in love with it! She asked me to make her a few cards with that set and paper, so here is what I have come up with so far:

I used the ANIMAL STORIES stamp set for this card, and TALL TALES DS paper. I also used Chocolate Chip cardstock for the base and the scallop around the whale, Very Vanilla cardstock for the 1-3/4 circle the whale is stamped on. I sponged around the whale with So Saffron ink. I used So Saffron cardstock behind the three sections of DS paper, and linen thread, which is tied around the card.

My second card is this:

I also used the ANIMAL STORIES stamp set for this card, as well as the TALL TALES DS paper. The base of the card is Old Olive, and I used So Saffron cardstock around the DS paper. The owl is stamped in Old Olive on Very Vanilla cardstock, punched out with 1-1/4 circle punch, adhered to a So Saffron 1-3/8 circle (from punch), adhered to an Old Olive scallop circle punch. I used a paper piercer to punch around the scallop punch. The "just for you" phrase is from Teeny Tiny Wishes, punched out with the Word Window punch, mounted on So Saffron punched with the Modern Label punch. I sponged around the "just for you" with Old Olive ink, and around the owl with So Saffron ink. There are So Saffron brads and Old Olive brads used on the card.

I made some changes to the FLIGHT OF THE BUTTERFLY card I posted from our July Play Day. It was originally a 4-1/4 square card. I really like the square card to look at, but it is not very practical, so I mounted the main part of the card onto a 5-1/2 x 4-1/4 So Saffron base which had been run through the Big Shot with the large circles from the Background texture plates from Stampin Up. Here is what it looks like now:

It is hard to see the texture in the cardstock in this picture!

Thanks for looking at my cards!

Happy stampin and scrappin!
