Busy Week!

It has been a very busy week here at our house. Last Friday and Saturday, we had our very first ever yard sale! It was hot and sunny but at least it didn't rain! Even though it was a lot of work, we were able to contribute the proceeds to our daughter for her grad school fund.

It was nice to clean out the garage and we found good homes for lots of the objects! It also brought back a lot of memories going through everything.

On Sunday, we picked up Kim and Jeremy and went to Brian's house to celebrate Father's Day. Brian took us all out to eat at a Mexican Restaurant and then we spent the afternoon relaxing at his house. He made Chocolate Eclair Cake for us as well!

Thursday, Doyle and I celebrated our anniversary (32 years), and Friday Kim and Jeremy had us over for a fabulous supper: grilled cheese quesadillas, corn chowder, grilled chicken and mango skewers, and hamburgers with chess cake for dessert!

Today, I hosted my first ever New Catalog Open House for Stampin Up. We had a great time, plus I got my house cleaned up. Here are some pictures:

For our make-and-take, we made the following projects:

The bookmark fits over the corner of a page in a book. We used the new in-color Rich Razzleberry and the new Razzleberry Lemonade DS paper from Stampin Up.

The card used the new stamp sets Animal Stories and Teeny Tiny Words, and the new coordinating DS paper from Stampin Up.

Happy Stampin and Scrappin!

I've Been Stamping!

Thursday, June 4, 2009

Yesterday I was on Splitcoast Stampers and saw several cards in the sketch challenge that used the Cuttlebug Embossing Folder With Love. I had the die and had never used it, so got it out! I inked the embossing folder on the flat side with Old Olive Ink and embossed Certainly Celery paper. I love the look, and it is super easy to do! The result was this very simple, but elegant, card:

It is hard to see, but I also embossed the envelope to go with it. Thanks for looking!

IT'S A STRETCH!

Tuesday, June 1, 2009

Yesterday was a busy day! Stampin Up announced its Last Chance List and posted a sneak preview preorder of the new catalog for demos. This was my first sneak preview as a demo, so I got up at 5:15 AM to check it all out. By the time I ordered, got the Last Chance List posted on an email to my friends, and checked everything out three times, I was tired!

Today I finished my It's A Stretch! card. I CASED it from Splitcoast, but made some minor changes. You can find the card I CASED it from at http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/1339681?cat=14650. I LOVE the color combo of the Kiwi Kiss and Pacific Point and will miss them very much after the end of this month! I made it a notecard and will package them up to use as a gift. I have been experimenting with watercoloring, and decided that I like to use reinkers with my aqua painter best. I like the way that no two cards turn out exactly the same way with the watercolors!

Here is my card:

STAMP SETS: It's a Stretch; Watercolor Joy Wheel; Sweet Little Sentiments

PAPER: Kiwi Kiss, Pacific Point, Watercolor, Kraft

INK: Kiwi Kiss, Pacific Point, Black Stazon, Really Rust, Going Gray, Bashful Blue

ACCESSORIES: Small and Medium Oval Punches, Scallop Oval Punch, Scallop Edge Punch, Pewter Brads, Aquapainter

Happy Stampin and Scrappin!
